St. Johns County firefighters douse a van with water at about 12 p.m. Thursday after it caught fire on the shoulder of U.S. 1 North. Fire Rescue spokesman Jeremy Robshaw said a prospective buyer was test-driving the Ford and was southbound, heading back to the dealership, when smoke started coming through the air-conditioning vents. He pulled over and got out, then the fire started, Robshaw said. Investigators were looking into what caused the fire, but Robshaw said it apparently started in the engine.
