St. Johns County was caught up in a trail of severe weather across the state Monday. Thunderstorms arrived in the southeastern end of the county in early evening, bringing with them a tornado warning through 10:30 p.m. About an inch of rain had fallen in the 24-hour period that ended at 11 p.m. Monday, most of it after 7 p.m. The thunderstorms are scheduled to last through noon today, though party cloudy skies are expected to cover the area through late afternoon, weather reports say.
