A recent article in The Record on invasive green mussels stated that, "UF cautions against eating mussels gathered from just anywhere because they can be contaminated by pollutants or algal blooms." However, in the same article, a source was quoted as saying that "anywhere you harvest shrimp or oysters, I don't know why you couldn't harvest these" (green mussels).
