CLERMONT — One bad inning and one very good pitcher ended a record ride for the Bartram Trail softball team on Friday.
The Bears’ quest for three consecutive softball state championships ended with a 3-0 loss to Naples in the Class 4A state semifinals at the National Training Center. Bartram had no answer for pitcher Jaclyn Traina, an Alabama signee, who took a perfect game into the seventh and struck out 16. She settled for her second consecutive one-hitter and a spot in today’s title game against Dunnellon.
