With ocean water temperatures hovering in the low 60s and expected to soon dip into the 50s, the adventurous and the daring will begin seasonal polar bear swims this month. According to Joel Sneed of St. Johns County Fire Rescue, lifeguards and others will voluntarily participate in one-mile ocean swims starting at various points on the south beaches.
