A phantom vintage car appeared on the beach just north of Ocean Trace Road on Sunday morning. Beach walkers were startled by the abandoned Volkswagen Beetle that looked to be covered in sand. A closer look revealed that what they were looking at was actually a sand sculpture that was apparently created during the night by unidentified sand sculpture artists. Beach residents Susan and Ed McDonnell, above, were among those who discovered the car. 'It looks just like the '57 Beetle I had,' said Ed.
